BEWARE OF DREAM CAR / U-SAVE CAR RENTAL

BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY!!!! They are also known as Dream Car Rental(SHOULD BE NIGHTMARE RENTAL)... I rented from this company May 22- May 25, 2015. I arrived at the airport at 7:05 pm they arrived at 8:00 pm to pick me up from the airport. I get to U-save / Dream Car Rental Company they tried to put me in a White 2008 Nissan Altima with over 400,000 miles, the car was ticking really bad and as you drive it something was dragging the ground underneath the car. So the switch to a Blue 2009 Nissan Altima the brake and tires was horrible, when the car got up to 60 mph it would start shaking really bad... Smh. So I ask them do you guys have anything 2013 and up that's reliable??? I ask for my money back, she replied "No, because only a manager can only refund money back and the manager don't work on the weekend." She also told me " I will email the manager your contact information" Never heard from the manager until I returned the car and another reception give me the manager e-mail and I emailed the manager first... Then she put me in a 2009 Jaguar she said " That's the best car we have." It was shaking also. So I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO ANYONE!!!

Usave Car And Truck Rental Car Rental Review

The US AVE car rental agency in newark at the Wyndham hotel did not have any cars available when we arrived for our reservation. There were 15 others stuck without car rentals and their customer service sucks.

The original quote was $79 but we ended up paying $308. They added $20 USD per day for Mexican car insurance, even though we already purchased the insurance online through the government website. They added 20% to our bill because their car rental lot was outside of the airport and this was to cover the pick up/drop off from the airport. After arguing for a while, I got the price down to $308...more than I would have paid in the United States. Then, 5 days after I left Mexico, I found another charge of $66 that I did not authorize and they did not notify me about. I am still trying to get my money back from my credit card company do to this. Do Not utilize this companies services. They charge you for picking you up at the airport and dropping you off 20% of your complete bill (including the $20/day of insurance) and you have to pay it, because you are already 10 miles from the airport with nothing and no one else around.

Rude Unreliable Thieves (Cancun airport agency)

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
1. Didn't have the car we had reserved. 2. The car we took failed to start an hour after we got it. 3. 3-4 hours spent getting a new battery 4. Minor damage to the car did not match the repair estimate, doubling the cost. They added 16% tax to the repair cost, then added that total to our rental bill, added 16% tax to that new total. 5. We could not return our car at 8AM as promised -- no one was there. The Spanish-only employee was 20 minutes late and a paperwork novice. The manager never arrived. 6. Manager hung up on me after saying she was calling police. She said the insurance I bought was "worthless" but that would nonetheless reimburse me for whatever she charged. Undoubtedly the worst car rental agency in the world.

Demanded my car insurance papers

I booked with usave through travelocity and arrived on time to pick up my rental .Upon arriving was told they need a copy of my car insurance policy from home ? I let him know I did not carry that with me but my major credit card would cover any liabilities .No I need your insurance papers was his sharp reply ! What was the cost of thier daily insurance I asked ? $40 per day for a car that was $175 per week to rent ? I wa Ked out and they could care less ! I am now dealing with Travelocity to be re imbused for my extra expenses inncurred from having to taxi to another rental co. And paying a higher rate ! But no mention of do you have your ins. Papers with you ! Myopinion USAVE is a deceptive ,rude agency in Ft. lauderdale anyway! Never Again!

It's because of incidents such as this that as consumers we need to be prepared. It's not just the liability (you pay for what happens to something else) but the collision coverage needed to cover the rental car.

For example, if you are personally driving an older car you may not be carrying collision anymore. Therefore your own insurance will not provide any collision coverage if you hit a telephone pole with the rental car. That would have to come out of your pocket regardless of your CC coverage. Most credit cards are SECONDARY to one's own insurance coverage.

The way around this in the future could be just to have your insurance company in your cell phone's contacts.

To say "I got it covered with a credit card "is not smart unless you a) have checked with your CC to know exactly what they do or do not cover, and b) have purchased a premium rent-a-car coverage such as what AMEX offers.

The fact that this particular USAVE charges 40 plus for collision coverage (not liability) is probably the highest going rate in a tourist destination. As consumers our best defense is to be better informed than the person at the counter.

USAVE car rental scam

Their office is outside the airport on a mobile unit in an undeveloped lot. Upon arrival at Cancun airport, the price was 50% higher than the internet reservation. That is why the can quote lower prices but then you end up paying more than the competitors. The lady at their office should be fired and offered as an example of how not to deal with customers. The worst customer experience ever. The car provided was completely different from the one in the reservation, which ended up costing more in gas consumption. Avoid at all costs and don't be fooled by their cheap advertised prices. Not true.

U-SAVE HAS LOST MY BUSINESS FOREVER

We reserved a car through Expedia with U-SAVE for my son's wedding in July. In May, I got an email from Gerry Foster, the franchise manager, that the Newark U-Save agency had shut its doors effective immediately. He stated that they had placed my reservation with Advantage. Advantage initially charged us as walk-in customers - they said they couldn't pull up the reservation through U-Save. They did rent us a car, but had I known the price would not be honored, I would have shopped around. The car ended up costing us twice as much and Gerry Foster has not responded to any of my emails. We will never book a car with U-SAVE again!

USAVE cancelled my confirmed reservation comprimised my private inforamtion

I had a confirmed reservation with The Newark USAVE for 12/21/2013 through December 26, 2013. The reservation was made over a month before my trip over the December Holidays. I got an e-mail from USAVE a few days before I was to pick up the car. The e-mail I got was forwarded to over 50 other customers cancelled confirmed holiday car reservations. USAVE & Expedia refused help with a new care rental. I asked for compensation due the fact another car rental at the last minute would cost quite a bit more then my confirmed USAVE reservation. I was not compensated in any way & my e-mail address & other reservation information was compromised.

I reserved a car with usave in Puerto Rico. When I got to the rental office I was informed they had no cars and handed me over to another rental co.

who they said was charging me the same rate. they added 2 fees or surcharges call it what you will. then give me an old car. since I had reserved the 1 month in advance I had no choice but to accept it.

Please do your self a favor and stay away from USAVE car rental unless you want to treated like garbage. By the way the other car rental co.

goes by 2 names N>U> car rentals and Regional car rentals. Be warned stay away from them.

Website Guarantee to Beat Competitor's Price by $50 a Total Joke

I'm flying into MYR for a little golf and find U-Save on the MYR website. The U-Save website boasts a guarantee that it will match competitors offers and cut $50 off the lowest quote. Well, they ignore my submission for a full size car and after 6 emails with the last to corporate I hear they used the wrong email and I have a confirmation that was misdirected. The confirmation is for a intermediate car (2 grades below full size) and the confirmation expires on the exact time of the pick up on my Dollar quote. The price is cheaper, the car is wrong and if I'm one minute late I no longer have a reservation. They have been ignoring me since I pointed the discrepancies out. Now I read about the condition of the cars they rent so the runaround before is better than a disaster that ruins the vacation. Bait and switch experts. No wonder they ignore emails.

U-save forged a receipt to try to take $50 from me

At the end of July, I was supposed to rent a Toyota Camry from the Myrtle Beach Airport location. They told me the Camry had not yet been returned so I could either wait for it, rent a 15 seat van, or a 2013 Ford F-150 for the same price I was originally going to pay. The choice was clear to me so I took the F-150. I paid up front for the truck and on my initial receipt, I paid $35 to return the truck with only a half tank of gas. I left Myrtle Beach on Friday, August 2. I returned the truck later than initially planned because my flight was pushed back. I was aware of the $35 I would be charged as a result of this. I signed an electronic pad which showed I returned the truck with no damage, etc. On August 3rd, I looked at my bank statement and found a $50 charge from U-save. When I called about it, they were rude and told me I didn't return the truck with a full tank of gas so there was nothing they could do. I let that charge go. Over a month later, I saw another charge for $16.32 from U-save and for what I don't know. I bypassed U-save and went through Bank of America billing disputes to have these charges resolved. The $16.32 was resolved immediately. Bank of America said they needed to contact U-save about the $50 charge before they could take action. Today, I received a letter in the mail stating the charge was valid and attached was a copy of a receipt that has my signature on the left side and a box that states "fuel charge $50" on the right side. I never signed any such receipt. 1) When I returned the truck, I signed a handheld electronic pad, not a handwritten receipt 2) I never dealt with a woman and the section that says "fuel charge" was clearly written by a woman. 3) I returned the truck on August 2. The receipt is dated August 3. I was in Pennsylvania on the 3rd. I'm not usually one to complain, but at this point, something needs to be done and they need to be stopped. All of this nonsense for a measly $50... Are you kidding me, U-save???

Horrible customer service

I have been renting with U-Save for a month not to mention The car I rented from them has so many dents and dings in the car as if it had been in a wrech and been repainted. The entire month they wanted me to come back every day claiming they wanted to check they car in which no one never inspected the car. that was a waste of gas. Than Dave gives you a hard time calling harassing your phone saying that I need to return the car so they can rent out to other people. Why would I return the car if im renting too and paying on time. One day I was unable to make it up to U-save so I called to do an extension for two days on the car and Dave said no I have to return the vehicle because I didn't come in and that I can no longer rent from them after renting for 1 month with them. They act as if im trying to steel the vehicle I am a florida resident I work and pay my taxes just like everyone else. They need to shut down U-save in Tampa they are horrible crocks and don't care about there customers.

U-Save #FAIL Unreliable and rude - worst experience ever

Avoid at all costs. This is the worst place ever. U-DONT-SAVE. When we arrived at JFK, we were told that NO CARS were available even though we had a reservation. Furthermore, the agent was not apologetic at all. When I asked to speak to the manager, I was told that nobody else was there. So frustrating. I really don't understand the value of a reservation if the company doesn't need to honor it. If I fail to honor my end, I will get charged a day's worth. I flew cross-country to attend a friend's wedding and I needed a car in order to get there in time. When U-SAVE failed to provide a car, I was forced to beg other car rental companies one by one. This was extremely stressful and totally unnecessary had U-SAVE followed through. Finally after another hour had gone by, National let me rent a car at the walk-up rate, READ: very expensive. U-SAVE should have been responsible for finding me a car and paying the difference. National said that this is the guarantee that they make to their customers. Shouldn't U-Save have the same type of policy? To make matters worse, when I emailed them to complain, they completely ignored me. It's been 1.5 months already and no one has bothered to respond even after repeated attempts to contact them.
